Speciality

I am excited about taking on the role of Chairman of Cottingham Rangers. I am proud to have supported the previous chairman for the last 3 years, and working together radically changed and improved the direction of the Club from being just a local grassroots club to becoming one of the largest, and more importantly, the best-run club within the East Riding Area.

Cottingham Rangers has a long history spanning over 50 years, of delivering Community Football for local children, and are very proud to have been once again awarded a 3 Star England Football Club Accreditation demonstrating our long-term commitment to providing football for all ages and genders.

The Club is managed by a fantastic team of over 100 volunteers who are giving and kind, who are respected, experienced, knowledgeable, and have a wealth of coaching and other relevant qualifications in the grassroots sporting world,

All of our coaches are passionate about grassroots football, have completed FA Accredited football coaching courses, and have been screened for their suitability for working with young people.

As a progressive Club, we have already formed great partnerships, within the local community, and further afield, such as The University of Hull and local businesses. We have expanded the number of registered teams and now are a financially sustainable club.

Over the next few years, we will ensure a consistently high level of coaching across all age groups catering for all levels of player ability and experience and providing progression pathways for our elite players into Academies and RTCs

We will develop a closer working relationship with our local FA, supporting them on initiatives and pilot projects around Respect, Referee Recruitment and Safeguarding, promoting our club as the benchmark club within the area.

Finally, we will ensure that we remain grounded and understand what our Club objectives are, to be an outstanding grassroots community football club providing great memories for our players, parents and volunteers.

The management committee and coaches of this club hope that your child finds great enjoyment in playing football for this club. New players of all abilities are welcome in all age groups.

Thanks

Chairman – Cottingham Rangers AFC.

To provide a safe, friendly, competitive, and inclusive footballing learning environment where players of all ages, abilities, and gender can develop their skills, knowledge, and individual creativity.

The club will provide football for as many children and young adults as possible. No child will be prevented from joining the club on grounds of ability. This is a fundamental commitment as an FA Charter Standard Community Club.

To ‘win matches but not at all costs.’ We try to provide fair playing time for all younger players and will always prioritise players development and wellbeing over short term gains.

For our younger age groups, we encourage the rotation of players to access a minimum amount of football. We also try to rotate positions to give our players a greater understanding of the game and the development of key footballing skills.

We play ‘creative, exciting attacking football through the thirds of the pitch’ To achieve this, we endeavor to develop players who are confident and technically competent on the ball in the Attacking, Defending, and Transitional phases of the game.

The club promotes training utilising lots of small-sided games to develop confidence and awareness and ball skills.
